About Me
Hello! I'm Zhao Zimo, currently a first-year PhD student in Data Science at the City University of Hong Kong (CityU), advised by Prof. Xiangyu Zhao. Prior to this, I earned my Master's degree in Data Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, where I was supervised by Prof. Benyou Wang and Prof. Xiao Li. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Data Science (with a minor in Finance) from Lingnan University, under the supervision of Prof. Haoran Xie.
My research interests lie in large language models, recommendation systems, and urban computing.
Awards & Certificates
- Gold Medal at the 2022 iENA - International Trade Fair "Ideas-Inventions-New Products". This recognition encouraged me to keep pushing the boundaries of innovation.
- Gold Medal, Nuremberg International Competition Invention Award 2016. A proud moment from my early days of creative exploration.
- Certificate of Blockchain for Business Project-based Internship, Hong Kong Blockchain Society 2021. This experience broadened my understanding of blockchain applications in business.
Publications
- "Research on carbon emissions of urban residents' three types of dining based on the whole life cycle" (International Journal of Low-Carbon Technologies, 2022). This work reflects my interest in sustainable technology and its impact on society.
- "Novel method for microencapsulation of eutectic hydrated salt as a phase change material for thermal energy storage" (International Journal of Low-Carbon Technologies, 2022). Here, I explored innovative materials for energy efficiency.
Research Experience
- LLMS Memory Efficiency (Quantized Model with BAdam) (2024.06 - Present): As a research assistant, I have been optimizing large language models for memory efficiency, experimenting with quantization and advanced optimization techniques. It's exciting to see how these improvements can make AI more accessible and scalable.
- Mobile-Agent Synthesis Test (2024.06 - Present): I am building multi-agent systems that simulate human behavior in virtual communities, aiming to better understand social phenomena and the potential of AI agents in social science research.
- Hong Kong Metropolitan University (2022.06 - 2022.09): Worked on image processing and unsupervised learning, contributing to the creation of a high-quality dataset for further research in computer vision.
Professional Experience
- Shenzhen Aratek Technology Co., Ltd. (03/2024 - 07/2024): As an AI Algorithm Engineer, I contributed to a clothing recognition project, developing deep learning solutions for real-world surveillance scenarios. The challenge of improving accuracy in complex environments was both demanding and rewarding.
- Huanding Big Data Institute (06/2021 - 09/2021): During my internship as a data analyst, I worked on Chinese medicine traceability, applying machine learning to uncover insights from traditional data. This experience strengthened my data wrangling and analytical skills.
Extracurricular Activities
